The Role
- Provide medical leadership across multiple local sites, balancing hands-on clinical work with strategic oversight
- Set and uphold medical standards, protocols, and quality initiatives that elevate patient care
- Mentor and coach veterinarians; lead doctor meetings and participate in DVM recruitment and onboarding
- Manage case flow by seeing appointments; perform general surgery and dentistry
- Guide inventory and equipment planning in collaboration with practice management
- Ensure accurate medical recordkeeping and appropriate controlled substance management
- Partner with leadership to review key performance indicators and implement improvement plans
- Support regulatory adherence, including State Veterinary Medical Practice Act, OSHA, and AAHA standards
- Champion clear, compassionate client communication and help resolve escalated concerns

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Active Tennessee veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- 3-5+ years of small-animal practice experience with strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and communication skills in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to compassionate, high-quality medicine
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Eligibility to work in the United States
