The Role
- Provide comprehensive patient exams and medical workups for a steady small-animal caseload
- Perform diagnostic procedures, including use of in-house lab and diagnostic imaging
- Conduct soft tissue surgery; orthopedic procedures available based on interest and experience
- Manage anesthesia and pain control with full monitoring support
- Triage and manage urgent cases; monitor hospitalized patients and participate in rounds when applicable
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records and uphold best-practice protocols
- Collaborate closely with technicians and hospital leadership to promote efficiency and excellent patient care
- Support pharmacy responsibilities, including prescriptions and controlled substance protocols

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Active license (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Tennessee
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and client communication skills
- Team-oriented approach with a commitment to compassionate, high-quality care
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of clinical work
