The Role
- Serve as the clinical leader and primary medical voice, setting standards for medical quality, patient safety, and client experience
- Provide hands-on patient care while mentoring and developing associate veterinarians through coaching, case review, and regular doctor meetings
- Partner with the Practice Manager on scheduling, workflows, team utilization, inventory, and operational priorities
- Supervise veterinarians and support consistent, accurate medical records and appropriate charging practices
- Oversee medical equipment use and maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance (including controlled substance management and radiation safety programs)
- Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of veterinary talent
- Engage with the local community to strengthen awareness and access to care
- Contribute to practice performance through data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement

Requirements
- DVM/VMD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted license (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Vermont
- Active DEA registration (or eligibility), plus any required state-controlled substance registrations
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience; prior leadership experience preferred
- Strong medical, surgical, and client communication skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week
