The Role
- Full-time, hospital-based working manager position leading associate veterinarians while providing clinical care.
- Coach, mentor, and develop veterinarians; build a strong leadership bench and succession plan.
- Oversee medical quality through case reviews, record audits, and targeted coaching; support continuous improvement and patient safety.
- Partner with hospital management to align medical excellence with smooth operations and a high-quality client experience.
- Direct onboarding and skills development for new doctors, including growth in clinical, surgical, and dental competencies.
- Serve as or partner with the responsible veterinarian for required permits; ensure compliance with controlled substance regulations and other applicable standards.
- Manage medical equipment needs and maintenance in partnership with leadership.
- Support recruitment efforts, host externs and candidates, and represent the hospital positively within the local veterinary community.
- Address escalated client concerns related to medical care and champion timely, accessible service.

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited program
- Active Oregon veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain promptly)
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Proven proficiency in routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership experience coaching veterinarians and clinical teams
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and modern clinical workflows
- Authorization to work in the United States
