The Hospital
A long-established, full-service small-animal clinic serving dogs and cats, this hospital combines a collaborative culture with practical, in-house capabilities that make excellent medicine possible. Clinicians work alongside experienced veterinary technicians and assistants in a setting designed for both routine and more complex cases.
- Full spectrum of care: preventive medicine, dentistry, general and soft-tissue surgery, and urgent/critical care
- On-site diagnostics: in-house laboratory analyzers, digital radiology, and ultrasound
- Treatment infrastructure: dedicated surgical suite, post-op monitoring, ICU/hospitalization support, oxygen and transfusion capability, isolation ward, and an in-clinic pharmacy
- Team-centered approach: strong nursing support, case collaboration, and mentorship for early-career doctors
- Predictable schedule: weekday day/evening shifts with Saturday coverage; closed on Sundays
- Case variety that builds skills across wellness, surgery, and inpatient/urgent care

The Role
- Deliver high-quality preventive care, wellness exams, and client education
- Perform diagnostics and manage treatment plans using in-house lab, radiology, and ultrasound
- Conduct routine and soft-tissue surgeries and dental procedures with anesthesia oversight
- Manage urgent and emergent cases during scheduled hours, with ICU/hospitalization support when needed
- Coordinate peri-operative and inpatient care, including oxygen and transfusion therapy as indicated
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about diagnostics, treatment options, and estimates
- Collaborate with and mentor veterinary technicians and assistants
- Treat canine and feline patients exclusively
- Participate in a rotating Saturday schedule and weekday day/evening shifts

Requirements
- DVM or VMD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- License to practice in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Commitment to high clinical standards, teamwork, and excellent client communication
- Comfort with a broad small-animal caseload, including surgery and urgent care
- Willingness to provide Saturday coverage and some evening shifts
