Urgent Care Veterinarian

An excellent opportunity is available for an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join an established small animal hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This position offers the opportunity to manage a varied same-day caseload while working alongside experienced clinicians, veterinary technicians and specialist teams.

The role would suit a veterinarian who enjoys the pace and variety of urgent care medicine but values the additional support and resources available within a collaborative hospital environment.

About the Practice

This established hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care within a multidisciplinary clinical environment, allowing urgent care veterinarians to benefit from close collaboration with experienced colleagues across a range of disciplines.

The urgent care caseload focuses primarily on patients requiring prompt assessment and treatment without necessarily requiring full emergency or critical-care intervention. Cases can include gastrointestinal illness, urinary concerns, wounds and minor injuries, dermatological conditions, pain management and other same-day presentations.

Veterinarians have access to advanced diagnostic, imaging, surgical and patient-monitoring resources, allowing cases to be investigated efficiently while providing straightforward access to additional clinical expertise when more complex care is required.

Experienced veterinary technicians and support professionals help with triage, diagnostics, procedures and patient care, allowing veterinarians to focus on clinical decision-making and client communication.

There is also a strong emphasis on continued learning, with regular case collaboration and opportunities to develop skills across urgent care, diagnostics and procedural medicine.
