Veterinarian

A progressive, Fear Free and Cat Friendly accredited small animal hospital in the highly desirable community of Lost Creek, Austin, Texas, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced and collaborative team.

The Opportunity

  • Base salary of $110,000 - $150,000, dependent on experience
  • Negotiable production bonus of up to 23%
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available (2-5 days per week)
  • Standard shifts of 8:00am - 5:00pm or 9:00am - 6:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break
  • No weekend work required
  • Flexible scheduling with a supportive team that works collaboratively to accommodate shift swaps and personal commitments
  • Opportunity to work alongside three experienced veterinarians, with regular access to highly regarded board-certified specialists in surgery, internal medicine, radiology, and other specialty disciplines

This hospital provides a varied and interesting caseload, allowing veterinarians to practice high-quality medicine while continuing to develop their clinical skills.

You'll see:

  • General practice consultations
  • Routine and advanced medical cases
  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Daytime urgent and emergency cases
  • Complex medical workups prior to referral

There is also the opportunity to treat a range of exotic species, including:

  • Small pocket pets
  • Reptiles
  • Pot-bellied pigs
  • Pygmy goats
  • Other larger exotics

Exotics currently make up approximately 5% of the hospital's caseload, with significant opportunity for future growth.

Advanced Equipment & Diagnostics

The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic capabilities, including:
  • Endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Rhinoscopy
  • Cancer screening
  • Echocardiography
  • FAST scans
  • Diagnostic ultrasound

Located within an affluent community, the hospital regularly works up complex medical and surgical cases in-house, including advanced imaging, scoping procedures, ultrasound investigations, orthopaedics, and extensive medical workups before referral for services such as CT imaging or chemotherapy. This provides an excellent environment for veterinarians who enjoy practising a high standard of medicine and are eager to continue learning.

Mentorship & Professional Development

The hospital encourages continual clinical development and provides excellent support for veterinarians at all stages of their careers.

Applicants should have basic competency in routine soft tissue surgery and a willingness to further develop their surgical skills. Ongoing mentorship, structured teaching, and support in the surgery suite are available to help build confidence and expand surgical capabilities over time.

Experienced veterinarians will generally enjoy 30-minute appointments, with the flexibility to manage walk-in urgent or emergency cases when appropriate.

We're seeking a veterinarian who:
  • Holds (or is eligible to obtain) a license to practice veterinary medicine in Texas
  • Enjoys practising high-quality medicine

  • Has a positive attitude and a genuine desire to continue learning and developing professionally
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary of $110,000$150,000
  • Negotiable production bonus of up to 23%
