Associate Veterinarian Austin, TX | Private AAHA-Accredited Hospital | $130K+ Base + Production

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a highly regarded, privately owned veterinary practice in Austin, TX.

This established and growing practice has been serving the local community for more than 55 years and offers an advanced, high-quality standard of care alongside a highly experienced and collaborative veterinary team.

The Role

The ideal candidate will have previous small animal clinical experience, with an internship or approximately 2+ years of experience preferred. However, exceptional new graduates with the right attitude and clinical interests will also be considered.

There is flexibility to tailor your caseload around your interests, with opportunities to focus more heavily on consultations, surgery, or a combination of both.

The hospital offers a varied and engaging caseload, providing excellent opportunities to develop advanced surgical and medical skills.

Typical schedule:

4-day working week
8:00 AM6:00 PM mid-week shifts
One later mid-week shift of approximately 12:00 PM8:00 PM
Alternate Saturdays, 8:00 AM1:00 PM
When working a Saturday, a half-day during the following week compensates for the additional hours
No overnight or out-of-hours requirement
Emergencies and walk-ins are accommodated during normal working hours
Two-hour break during the middle of the day

This is a high-level private practice with an impressive range of modern equipment and advanced services, including:

Multiple dental suites
Dedicated dental radiography
Digital radiography
Ultrasound
Multiple video otoscopes
In-house laboratory and blood analysis
Surgical laser and electrocautery
Advanced anaesthetic monitoring
ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and end-tidal CO₂ monitoring
In-house cytology and diagnostic testing

There are particularly strong opportunities for veterinarians interested in developing advanced surgery or a clinical subspecialty.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary approximately $130,000+, depending on experience
Production-based compensation with 21% production
Experienced Doctors are reportedly earning approximately $160,000$200,000+ total annual compensation
Approximately 15 days' PTO, plus public holidays
5 days of dedicated CE time
Approximately $2,000 CE allowance
Medical insurance
Professional licences and professional dues covered
401(k) with employer match
Potential sign-on/relocation assistance to be confirmed

The practice has a strong production model, but Doctors are not pressured to hit production targets, allowing the focus to remain on delivering excellent patient care.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a veterinarian who:

Holds or is eligible to obtain a DVM/VMD licence in Texas
Has a genuine passion for high-quality small animal medicine
Enjoys working collaboratively within a multi-doctor team
Is interested in developing advanced clinical or surgical skills
