Veterinary Medical Director

Global Talent Partners is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to join an established companion animal hospital in Mississauga, Ontario as Veterinary Medical Director.

This position combines hands-on clinical practice with responsibility for medical standards, veterinarian development and the continued improvement of patient care. You'll maintain your own clinical caseload while providing mentorship and guidance to a collaborative veterinary team.

This established small animal hospital combines high clinical standards with a supportive, team-focused working environment. The practice is AAHA-accredited and recognized as Cat Friendly, reflecting its commitment to quality medicine and thoughtful patient care.
Veterinarians work alongside Registered Veterinary Technologists, veterinary assistants and client service professionals, providing strong support throughout the patient journey.

The Opportunity
As Veterinary Medical Director, you'll combine an active clinical caseload with responsibility for supporting the hospital's medical standards and developing the veterinary team.

Key responsibilities include:
•Provide medical leadership across the veterinary team
•Maintain an active clinical caseload
•Oversee clinical quality and standards of patient care
•Develop and refine medical protocols
•Support quality assurance initiatives
•Mentor and coach veterinarians
•Provide structured support for new graduates
•Mentor internationally trained veterinarians
•Support internationally trained veterinarians preparing for the Clinical Proficiency Examination (CPE)
•Provide guidance on complex cases and clinical decision-making
•Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
•Collaborate with practice leadership on clinical operations
•Help improve workflows and clinical efficiency
•Promote a collaborative, learning-focused hospital culture
