This is a full-service small-animal hospital offering preventive and wellness care, comprehensive exams and vaccinations, in-house diagnostics, X-ray imaging, dental care, laboratory testing and routine surgery, plus support for virtual visits. The Role
- Provide clinical and cultural leadership for veterinarians and medical teams across assigned local hospitals
- Lead doctor engagement and retention initiatives, fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where clinicians thrive
- Serve as the responsible veterinarian for applicable permits and oversee controlled substance compliance
- Validate medical quality through medical record reviews, case discussions, audits and patient safety event reviews
- Deliver veterinary services; allocate time between clinical duties and leadership responsibilities based on hospital needs
- Coach and onboard newly hired veterinarians to build confidence in preventive care, dentistry, surgery and hospital workflows
- Partner with practice management to meet patient-care and operational goals while upholding medical standards
- Recruit and interview veterinary candidates; provide an excellent experience for externs and observers
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
- Manage medical equipment needs and maintenance in collaboration with local leadership
- Address escalated client concerns related to medical care and reinforce a high-quality client experience
- Champion preventive care and timely access to services
- Full-time, 100 percent hospital-based, working manager role

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active license (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Tennessee
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Proven proficiency in general medicine, dentistry and routine surgery
- Demonstrated leadership experience coaching veterinarians and medical teams; multi-site leadership preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Comfort with electronic medical records and in-clinic diagnostics
- Ability to travel locally between assigned hospitals as needed
- Authorization to work in the United States
