The Role
- Provide medical leadership for a cluster of general practice hospitals within the Scottsdale area, serving as a working manager who also delivers clinical care.
- Coach, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians and clinical teams to elevate medical quality, teamwork, and client experience.
- Oversee onboarding and coaching programs for new doctors, supporting growth in clinical, surgical, and dental skills.
- Conduct medical record reviews, quality assessments, and patient safety event reviews to uphold consistent standards of care.
- Partner with practice managers to meet hospital operational goals and key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including controlled substance management and radiation safety.
- Act as the Responsible Veterinarian for applicable permits as required by law.
- Help recruit veterinary talent and provide an excellent experience for candidates, externs, and students.
- Manage or advise on medical equipment needs and maintenance.
This is a full-time, hospital-based position with regular travel between assigned local hospitals.

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
- License to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Arizona, or eligibility to obtain prior to start.
- DEA registration or eligibility.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, coach, and develop veterinarians and clinical teams.
- Proficiency in general practice medicine, routine surgery, and dentistry.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; comfort working across multiple hospital locations.
