The Role
Full-time, hospital-based leadership and clinical position guiding medical teams to deliver consistent, high-quality care across assigned locations in the local area.
- Lead, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians to support engagement, retention, and clinical excellence
- Serve as a working manager with a defined percentage of clinical time, aligned to hospital needs
- Partner closely with practice management to drive medical quality and operational outcomes
- Validate clinical standards through medical record reviews, quality assessments, audits, and patient safety event reviews
- Oversee onboarding and coaching for newly hired veterinarians, supporting growth in clinical, surgical, and dental skills
- Recruit and interview veterinary talent in partnership with hiring teams; provide a positive experience for candidates and student externs
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
- Address client concerns related to medical care standards and elevate the overall client experience
- Manage medical equipment needs and maintenance planning
- Build a pipeline of future veterinary leaders and support succession planning
- Travel locally between assigned hospitals as required

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active Washington veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven clinical proficiency, including routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
- Leadership experience with a track record of coaching, feedback, and team development
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic, multi-site environment
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to inclusive, client-centered care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard practice software
- Ability to travel locally between hospitals as needed
