The Role
- Full-time, hospital-based position serving as the Area Chief of Staff Veterinarian
- Lead, coach, and develop associate veterinarians across assigned local hospitals to elevate medical standards, teamwork, and engagement
- Serve as a working manager combining hands-on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities
- Champion consistent, high-quality care focused on safety, effectiveness, client/patient-centered service, timeliness, efficiency, and equity
- Partner closely with practice management to deliver operational goals and an excellent client experience
- Oversee onboarding and coaching for newly hired veterinarians; support growth in clinical, surgical, and dental skills
- Conduct medical record reviews and quality assessments; guide continuous improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
- Manage medical equipment needs and maintenance in partnership with leadership
- Build a positive, inclusive culture that supports retention, access to care, and strong client communication

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Current license (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in California
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven clinical proficiency in small-animal medicine, dentistry, and routine surgery
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of coaching and developing veterinarians
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills; comfortable with electronic medical records and modern practice tools
