The Role
- Full-time, hospital-based working manager role with a blend of clinical care and leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians across assigned hospitals, fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture
- Validate clinical quality through medical record reviews, audits, and patient safety event follow-up
- Serve as Responsible Veterinarian for permits as required; ensure compliant controlled substance management
- Partner with practice management on hospital performance plans and clinical quality goals
- Coach new veterinarians with hands-on skill development in medicine, surgery, and dentistry
- Support recruiting and candidate engagement in the local veterinary community
- Champion preventive care, access to care, and excellent client service; guide timely resolution of medical care concerns
- Oversee medical equipment needs and maintenance in partnership with leadership
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations, including radiation and pharmacy standards

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited program
- License to practice veterinary medicine in California (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven proficiency in general practice, surgery, and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams
- Comfortable with medical record review, quality metrics, and compliance oversight
- Strong communication skills and a client-centered approach
- Willingness to travel locally between assigned hospitals as needed
