The Role
- Full-time, hospital-based leadership and clinical position overseeing medical standards and doctor engagement across assigned local hospitals.
- Provide effective medical leadership in partnership with practice management to foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.
- Coach and develop associate veterinarians, including onboarding and skill-building in clinical, surgical, and dental procedures.
- Conduct medical record reviews, quality assessments, and patient safety event reviews to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Serve as Responsible Veterinarian for applicable permits and oversee controlled substance management in accordance with regulations.
- Contribute to recruiting efforts and provide an excellent experience for candidates, externs, and students during hospital visits.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and safety standards; drive clinical quality that supports key operational outcomes.
- Manage medical equipment needs in collaboration with leadership.
- Deliver hands-on veterinary care as a working manager, with clinical time aligned to hospital and team needs.
- Support superior client service, timely case resolution, and strong preventive-care recommendations.

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Current license (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Ohio
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility) and strong understanding of controlled substance protocols
- Proficiency in general surgery and dentistry, and comfort with in-house diagnostics and imaging
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills; prior leadership experience preferred
- Willingness to work a predominantly daytime schedule with shared weekends
