The Hospital
This full-service, companion-animal hospital operates around the clock with established emergency and urgent-care services. The facility offers an in-house laboratory, radiology including dental radiographs, a dedicated surgical suite, intensive care capability, endoscopy, oxygen/transfusion support, and an in-house pharmacy. A team-based culture, strong support ratios (including help with medical records), and streamlined workflows enable clinicians to focus on diagnosis, treatment planning, and client communication. The hospital is AAHA-accredited and invests in ongoing continuing education and modern diagnostic tools. Client-support resources include financing options and interpretation services, reinforcing a commitment to accessible, compassionate care.

The Role
- Provide medical leadership for an urgent-care focused, small-animal hospital while maintaining an active clinical caseload
- Set and uphold medical standards, protocols, and quality assurance in an AAHA-accredited environment
- Mentor veterinarians and technicians; lead case discussions and support professional growth
- Champion efficient triage and workflow to enhance patient care and on-time departures
- Foster a collaborative, respectful culture with clear, empathetic client communication
- Utilize on-site diagnostics, radiology (including dental imaging), surgical suite, ICU support, endoscopy, oxygen/transfusion services, and an in-house pharmacy
- Manage common same-day presentations: GI upsets, dermatologic issues, ear/eye concerns, minor wounds/lacerations, pain or lameness, respiratory signs, allergic reactions, toxin exposures, and urinary problems
- Schedule: full-time, four 10-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends; current operating hours 10:00am to 8:00pm

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- License to practice veterinary medicine in Utah (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Commitment to ethical practice, AAHA-level standards, teamwork, and excellent client communication
- Prior urgent care or emergency experience and leadership aptitude preferred
