The Role
- Partner with the lead veterinarian to drive hospital performance and uphold high standards of patient care and client service
- Lead, mentor, and develop administrative and clinical support teams; recruit, onboard, and coach for success
- Oversee scheduling, workforce planning, and labor management while meeting productivity goals
- Manage budgets, forecasting, purchasing, and expense control; oversee local accounting, deposits, and daily financial accuracy
- Direct inventory and vendor relationships; maintain equipment and facility standards
- Ensure smooth front-desk operations, accurate billing and charge capture, and effective client communication
- Handle client escalations with professionalism and empathy; reinforce a culture of service excellence
- Maintain compliance with applicable policies, safety standards, and recordkeeping requirements
- Track and report key performance indicators; recommend data-driven improvements
- Support community outreach and initiatives that strengthen the hospital’s local presence

Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- License to practice in Virginia where a professional license is applicable to the candidate’s background (for example, DVM or LVT); CVPM or MHA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business, health science, or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of office or practice management experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role; veterinary or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and practice-management software; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, time-management, and organizational abilities
- Flexibility to support occasional weekend or holiday needs
- Comfortable working around animals and in a clinical environment; ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
