The Role
- Provide emergency and critical care for small animals during evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Triage, stabilize, diagnose, and treat urgent medical and surgical cases
- Perform emergency surgeries; manage anesthesia and pain control
- Utilize digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house lab testing to guide timely treatment plans
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners; deliver thorough discharge and follow-up instructions
- Collaborate with referring veterinarians to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Maintain accurate medical records and uphold hospital protocols
- Contribute to a supportive, team-focused culture and, if desired, help mentor junior clinicians and support staff

Requirements
- DVM/VMD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- License to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced emergency setting, including nights/weekends/holidays
- Strong communication skills and a client-centered, compassionate approach
