Global Talent Partners is proud to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to step into a Medical Director position with a well-established, AAHA-accredited companion animal hospital in Athens, Georgia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician looking to combine hands-on veterinary medicine with meaningful leadership responsibilities. You'll have the opportunity to influence clinical standards, mentor fellow veterinarians and help shape the continued development of a successful hospital while remaining actively involved in patient care.

About the Practice

You'll join an established three-doctor veterinary team supported by experienced veterinary technicians, assistants and client care professionals.

The hospital is AAHA-accredited and provides comprehensive medical, diagnostic and surgical care to a loyal companion animal client base.

Services and capabilities include:

•Wellness and preventative medicine
•Comprehensive medical examinations
•In-house laboratory diagnostics
•Urgent and emergency care during hospital hours
•Soft tissue surgery
•Comprehensive dentistry
•Senior pet medicine
•Nutritional counseling
•Vaccinations and parasite prevention
•Microchipping
•Chronic disease management
•Complex medical case management

The existing veterinary team brings a diverse range of clinical interests, including surgery, feline gastrointestinal medicine, feline behavior and exotic animal medicine, creating an excellent environment for collaborative case discussion and continued learning.

The hospital operates Monday through Friday and is closed on weekends, providing an attractive schedule that allows the Medical Director to maintain a genuine balance between leadership responsibilities, clinical work and life outside the hospital.

The Opportunity

As Medical Director, you'll work closely with hospital management while providing clinical leadership to the veterinary team.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Leading and maintaining high clinical standards across the hospital
•Mentoring and supporting associate veterinarians
•Remaining actively involved in appointments, medicine and surgery
•Supporting clinical decision-making and complex case discussions
•Helping develop hospital protocols and best practices
•Encouraging continuing education and professional development
•Supporting recruitment, onboarding and retention of veterinary talent
•Promoting a positive, collaborative and accountable workplace culture
•Working alongside hospital management on operational priorities
•Identifying opportunities for hospital growth and service development
•Maintaining excellent standards of client communication and patient care

This position would suit an experienced veterinarian who enjoys developing others and wants greater influence over hospital culture and clinical direction without stepping away from practicing medicine.

Requirements

•Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent qualification
•Georgia veterinary license or eligibility to obtain
•Eligibility to work in the United States
•Strong small animal general practice experience
•Previous leadership, mentoring or team development experience preferred
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Confidence in clinical decision-making
•Commitment to maintaining high medical standards and developing a positive hospital culture
