About the Hospital

This recently established Emergency and Urgent Care hospital has been designed specifically to provide high-quality emergency veterinary medicine without operating as a traditional overnight facility.

The hospital operates from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, seven days per week, providing emergency and urgent care when many general practices are closed while allowing veterinarians to avoid overnight shifts.

The caseload provides exposure to a broad range of presentations, including:

The hospital is positioned for continued growth, giving the successful veterinarian the opportunity to join at an exciting stage of its development and play a meaningful role in shaping its future.

The Opportunity

This position is particularly well suited to an experienced emergency or urgent care veterinarian who enjoys autonomy and is comfortable acting as the primary doctor on shift.

You'll have responsibility for managing cases from initial presentation through diagnostics, treatment and discharge, allowing you to maintain ownership of clinical decision-making and patient care.

Responsibilities will include:

•Triage and stabilization of emergency patients
•Managing a broad range of urgent and emergency presentations
•Developing diagnostic and treatment plans

•Maintaining accurate medical records
•Working independently as the primary veterinarian on shift
•Partnering with hospital leadership on clinical and operational development
•Supporting the continued growth of the hospital

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

One of the biggest advantages of this opportunity is the ability to practice emergency medicine without overnight shifts.

Hospital hours are:

12:00 PM 12:00 AM, seven days per week

The full-time rotating schedule is structured around:

•Week 1: Three shifts
•Week 2: Four shifts
•Shared weekend rotation
•Flexible scheduling between the two emergency veterinarians
•Typically one veterinarian on-site per shift
•No overnight shifts

This structure provides the clinical variety and earning potential associated with emergency medicine while offering a more sustainable schedule than many traditional 24/7 ER environments.

Compensation & Equity Opportunity

This is more than a traditional associate veterinarian position. The hospital offers a genuine opportunity to participate in the future financial success of the practice.

The package includes:

•Starting salary from $150,000+
•23% ProSal production compensation
•Equity participation opportunity
•Long-term ownership potential
•Strong earning potential linked to hospital performance
•Four weeks of paid time off
•Flexible rotating schedule
•No overnight shifts
•Opportunity to join a growing hospital at an early stage of development

For a veterinarian interested in eventual ownership but who does not necessarily want to start or acquire a hospital independently, the equity pathway provides an attractive opportunity to combine clinical work with longer-term financial participation.

Requirements

•DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary qualification
•Texas veterinary license or eligibility to obtain
•Eligibility to work in the United States
•Emergency or urgent care experience strongly preferred
•Strong emergency medicine skills
