The Role
- Provide high‑quality emergency and critical care on scheduled relief shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Rapidly triage, stabilize and manage urgent and high‑acuity cases
- Utilize on‑site imaging and in‑house laboratory resources to diagnose and treat efficiently
- Perform emergency procedures and soft‑tissue surgeries as appropriate to experience
- Oversee ICU patients and coordinate care plans in partnership with specialty services
- Communicate clearly with clients and referring veterinarians, providing timely updates and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to daily rounds
- Support, guide and collaborate with technicians and assistants to ensure excellent patient flow and safety

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree (or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Hawaii; active Hawaii license required by start date
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Previous emergency experience or internship training strongly preferred
- Competence in triage, emergency procedures, anesthesia and pain management
- DEA registration and Hawaii controlled substances authorization (or eligibility)
- Comfort with overnight, weekend and holiday coverage in a 24/7 setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented approach
