Veterinary Medical Director

Global Talent Partners is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to step into a Medical Director position with an established companion animal hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This is a hands-on clinical leadership role combining general practice medicine with responsibility for medical standards, veterinarian mentorship and the continued development of the hospital's clinical culture. You'll work closely with hospital leadership while retaining an active caseload across medicine, dentistry and surgery.

The Opportunity

As Medical Director, you'll combine your own clinical caseload with responsibility for maintaining high medical standards and supporting the continued development of the veterinary team.

Your leadership responsibilities will include:
•Providing hands-on medical, surgical and dental care
•Leading and maintaining hospital medical standards
•Supporting evidence-based clinical protocols
•Mentoring and coaching veterinarians
•Providing guidance on complex cases
•Facilitating collaborative case discussions
•Supporting veterinarian onboarding and development
•Reviewing and refining clinical protocols
•Promoting consistency in patient care and medical records
•Supporting quality improvement initiatives
•Partnering with hospital leadership on clinical operations
•Supporting pharmacy and inventory standards
•Maintaining appropriate DEA and controlled substance compliance
•Helping optimize clinical workflows and scheduling
•Supporting effective utilization of veterinary technicians and assistants
•Encouraging open communication and collaboration across the hospital
•Helping maintain a positive, accountable and supportive workplace culture

You'll continue practicing medicine while having the opportunity to influence how care is delivered across the hospital and support the professional development of the wider clinical team.
