Veterinary Medical Director

Global Talent Partners is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to step into a Veterinary Medical Director position with a 24/7 small animal hospital in St. Peters, Missouri.

This position combines hands-on clinical medicine with hospital-wide medical leadership, giving you the opportunity to shape clinical standards, mentor fellow veterinarians and work closely with practice leadership to support the continued development of the hospital and its clinical team.

This 24/7 small animal hospital provides year-round emergency and critical care, with an emphasis on efficient triage, rapid diagnostics and compassionate patient care.

Veterinarians are supported by experienced veterinary technicians and a wider clinical team, allowing doctors to concentrate on clinical decision-making, procedures, treatment planning and communication with clients.

Clinical capabilities include:
•24/7 veterinary care
•Emergency and critical care
•In-house laboratory diagnostics
•Digital radiography
•Fully equipped surgical facilities
•Hospitalization and ongoing patient monitoring
•Access to radiology consultation
•Soft tissue surgery
•Orthopedic cases
•Ocular cases
•Occasional exotic and pocket-pet cases
•Triage and stabilization of critically ill patients

A structured mentorship program supports developing clinicians, including veterinarians looking to strengthen their diagnostic, medical and surgical capabilities.

The Opportunity
As Veterinary Medical Director, you'll remain actively involved in clinical medicine while providing leadership and guidance across the hospital's veterinary team.

You'll work alongside practice leadership to maintain high standards of medicine, strengthen clinical processes, support veterinarian development and promote a positive, collaborative hospital culture.

Your responsibilities will include:
•Providing hospital-wide veterinary leadership
•Establishing and maintaining high clinical standards
•Managing your own clinical caseload
•Mentoring and supporting associate veterinarians
•Providing guidance on challenging and complex cases
•Leading clinical case discussions and veterinarian meetings
•Supporting veterinarian onboarding and development
•Developing and refining clinical protocols
•Driving quality-improvement initiatives
•Promoting consistency in patient care and medical decision-making
•Supporting effective collaboration between veterinarians and support staff
•Partnering with practice leadership on hospital priorities
•Supporting efficient clinical workflows and patient care
•Maintaining high standards of medical documentation
•Supporting appropriate controlled-substance management
•Promoting excellent client communication
•Helping foster a positive, accountable and collaborative clinical culture
The position provides an excellent opportunity to have a meaningful influence on the hospital's medical direction while remaining closely involved in hands-on veterinary medicine.
As part of a 24/7 hospital, some evening, weekend and holiday coverage may form part of the clinical schedule.
