Veterinary Medical Director

Global Talent Partners is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to step into a Veterinary Medical Director position at a well-established companion animal hospital in San Diego, California.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a veterinarian who wants to remain actively involved in clinical medicine while taking greater responsibility for medical standards, veterinarian development and the continued success of the hospital. You'll be supported by an experienced team, established operational resources and a collaborative culture centered around high-quality patient care.

Veterinarians work alongside experienced technicians and client service professionals, creating a supportive clinical environment where doctors can focus on medicine, procedures and communication with pet owners.

The combination of digital radiography, ultrasound and in-house laboratory diagnostics supports efficient case workups and allows the team to manage a broad general practice caseload within the hospital.

Saturday hours provide additional accessibility for clients while maintaining a predictable scheduling structure for the veterinary team.

The Opportunity

You'll maintain an active clinical caseload while providing medical leadership across the hospital.

Key areas of responsibility include:
•Lead and mentor veterinarians and support professionals
•Maintain high medical and patient-care standards
•Guide clinical protocols and best practices
•Support collaborative case discussion and clinical decision-making
•Maintain an active medical, surgical and dental caseload
•Help develop veterinarians clinically and professionally
•Foster a positive, growth-focused team culture
•Promote efficient clinical workflows
•Partner with practice management on scheduling and hospital operations
•Contribute to quality assurance and inventory planning
•Strengthen client communication and education
•Support the hospital's continued engagement with its local community

This position provides the opportunity to influence the hospital's clinical direction while continuing to work directly with patients and clients.
