The Role
- Full-time leadership role accountable for clinical quality, doctor engagement, and hospital performance within the local area.
- Lead, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians; design onboarding and coaching plans that build clinical, surgical, and dental confidence.
- Partner with practice management to deliver key operational and medical outcomes; review medical records and implement quality and patient-safety improvements.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substance management and radiation safety.
- Recruit and interview veterinary candidates; create a strong talent bench and succession plans.
- Support and validate technical skill development for veterinary technicians and assistants.
- Oversee medical equipment needs and maintenance within assigned scope.
- Address escalated client concerns related to medical care; champion a service-focused, access-to-care culture.
- Provide hands-on clinical care, including preventive medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, and routine surgery.
- Predictable weekday schedule with Saturday rotation.

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Active Illinois veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Proven proficiency in general practice, including routine surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability; prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort with digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house lab workflows
- Commitment to consistent, high-quality, patient- and client-centered care
