The Hospital
A full-service small-animal clinic located inside a major pet retail center, offering a convenient setting for clients with free on-site parking and steady walk-in visibility. The practice features a coordinated team structure including veterinarians, credentialed technicians, veterinary assistants, client service coordinators, and a practice manager. Services include preventive care, diagnostics and testing, digital radiology, in-house dental cleanings, general surgical capability, microchipping, basic grooming, and access to an online pharmacy with veterinary-recommended nutrition and parasite-control products. The Role
- Full-time leadership position overseeing medical quality and doctor development across assigned hospitals in the Atlanta area
- Champion a culture of safety, consistency and client-centered care; monitor and improve key medical and hospital performance metrics
- Conduct regular hospital visits, quality reviews and coaching sessions to build engagement and elevate standards
- Lead recruiting efforts, participate in interviews and referrals, and design strong onboarding and mentorship for new associates and relief veterinarians
- Partner with practice leadership to coordinate patient flow, client communication and team alignment
- Manage medical equipment functionality and maintenance requests across assigned sites
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including controlled substances and radiation safety
- Engage with local and state veterinary organizations to build professional relationships
- Provide clinical care as scheduled, including general medicine, diagnostics and basic soft-tissue surgery
- Schedule may include some evenings and weekends; travel between local hospitals is required

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Active Georgia veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility) and working knowledge of controlled substance regulations
- Proven leadership experience coaching veterinarians; prior lead/medical director/chief of staff experience preferred
- Proficiency in general medicine and basic surgical procedures
- Excellent communication, coaching, problem-solving and time-management skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced small-animal environment within a retail-based clinic
- Ability to stand for extended periods, safely handle companion animals and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation for travel between local hospitals
