The Role
- Full-time Area Chief of Staff leading and developing associate veterinarians across assigned hospitals
- Elevate medical standards and consistency of care through coaching, case review, and clinical feedback
- Partner with practice leadership to deliver operational goals, patient care metrics, and client experience targets
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor veterinarians; design individualized development plans and ensure a smooth transition into practice
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture that drives engagement, retention, and team collaboration
- Ensure regulatory compliance including controlled substance management, medical record accuracy, and radiation safety
- Oversee clinical skills validation for veterinary technicians and assistants and support training plans
- Manage medical equipment needs and maintenance in partnership with regional leadership
- Address escalated client concerns related to standards of care and service
- Provide exemplary clinical care and client communication while modeling best practices for the team

Requirements
- DVM/VMD (or international equivalent) with eligibility for Illinois licensure
- Active state and federal (DEA) credentials or ability to obtain
- Solid surgical and medical skills using standard instruments and procedures
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop veterinarians
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to high standards of safety, quality, ethics, and client service
- Authorization to work in the United States
