The Role
- Provide medical leadership across assigned hospitals in the Mesa area, fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture
- Lead, coach, and retain associate veterinarians; oversee onboarding and mentorship to build clinical, surgical, and dental competency
- Deliver patient care as a working manager; percentage of clinical time balanced with leadership needs
- Conduct medical record reviews, quality assessments, and case audits to ensure consistent, high-standard, patient- and client-centered care
- Partner with practice management to drive operational outcomes, service quality, and client experience
- Support recruitment efforts and host student externs and candidates for positive hospital experiences
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substances management and radiation safety
- Guide equipment stewardship and request planning to support medical delivery
- Address escalated client concerns with empathy and timely resolution
- Work within a predictable schedule that includes early mornings and weekend rotations

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active Arizona veterinary license (or ability to obtain promptly)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven clinical proficiency in general practice, including routine surgery and dentistry
- Comfortable with digital radiology, dental X-ray, and in-house lab workflows
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Strong organizational ability, medical record accuracy, and commitment to quality and compliance
- Willingness to travel locally between assigned hospitals as needed
