The Role
- Lead the hospital’s medical and client-service standards while practicing high-quality general medicine and surgery.
- Balance responsibilities with approximately 20–30 percent leadership and 70–80 percent clinical care (varies by business needs).
- Coach, mentor, and develop veterinarians and support staff; foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
- Oversee medical protocols, quality assurance, medical record standards, safety, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Guide client communication and service excellence, ensuring a consistent, compassionate experience.
- Shape doctor and team scheduling to meet patient needs and maintain operational efficiency.
- Deliver preventive care, diagnostics (including X-rays and in-house lab workups), dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, anesthetic management, and treatment planning.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment and champion evidence-based care.
- Collaborate with practice management on hospital strategy, budgeting insights, and performance goals.
- Full-time position with varied shifts across early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited program
- Active Oregon veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Proven clinical skills in general practice; surgery and dentistry experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and communication abilities
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include some evenings and weekends
