The Role
- Lead, coach, and develop all hospital support teams to foster trust, teamwork, accountability, and excellent service
- Partner closely with the lead veterinarian to drive operational efficiency, quality standards, and financial performance
- Recruit, onboard, and train administrative and clinical support staff; manage performance reviews and coaching plans
- Create, refine, and implement hospital policies and standard operating procedures
- Oversee scheduling, timekeeping, and labor management to achieve service and labor targets
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth front- and back-of-house workflows and a strong client experience
- Monitor budgets; manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and facility maintenance
- Administer local accounting functions, including daily reconciliation, invoice processing, and charge capture oversight
- Maintain inventory controls and accurate documentation
- Support client issue resolution with empathy and professionalism; uphold service recovery standards
- Ensure staff compliance with safety protocols, licensure tracking, and regulatory requirements
- Flexibility to support occasional weekends or holidays as business needs require

Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Applicable California professional licensure or certification if required by role responsibilities; ability to maintain any required licenses or permits
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- At least five years of office or practice management experience, including two or more years in a supervisory role
- Proficiency with common office software and practice-management systems; strong data and financial acumen
- Exceptional communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a veterinary setting around animals, cleaning agents, and medical materials; ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed
- Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment
