The Role
- Lead daily hospital operations in partnership with the lead veterinarian to uphold high standards of patient care and client experience
- Recruit, onboard, schedule, and develop support staff; foster a culture of trust, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Oversee budgeting, revenue growth, and cost control; analyze KPIs and take action to meet hospital goals
- Manage payroll processes, timekeeping oversight, and labor optimization
- Ensure accurate accounting, invoice approval, charge capture, and billing practices
- Direct inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and equipment/facility maintenance
- Create and maintain hospital policies and SOPs; champion safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Support client relations, including service recovery and escalations
- Coordinate licensure tracking for clinicians and maintain required postings and records
- Maintain flexible availability, including some weekends and holidays, to support a seven-days-per-week operation

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- At least five years of office or operations management experience, including two or more years in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills; strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with office software and comfort with practice management and scheduling systems
- Financial acumen in budgeting, analysis, and operational decision-making
- Ability to work around animals and in a clinical environment; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods
- Eligible to work in the United States
- License to practice in California, if applicable to the candidate’s professional credential (e.g., DVM or RVT); ability to manage and maintain compliance for all required hospital and clinician licenses
