The Hospital
This established, client-centered emergency hospital provides continuous care for dogs and cats, welcoming urgent walk-ins and delivering teamwork-driven medicine at all hours. The environment is fast-paced yet supportive, with veterinarians, technicians, and client service professionals working closely together. On site, the team leverages:
- Emergency and urgent care services for a wide range of conditions
- In-house imaging and radiology
- In-house laboratory and diagnostics
- A surgical suite with anesthesia and monitoring capabilities
- Transfusion capability when needed
- Coordinated access to board-certified specialist input for complex cases
- Structured triage, intake, and client communication workflows

The Role
- Lead and develop the care coordination team, including hiring, coaching, performance feedback, and policy communication
- Build and manage schedules; serve on the front desk during peak times or staffing gaps
- Oversee reception operations: greeting clients, phone handling and routing, and efficient check-in and check-out
- Handle client feedback and service recovery; escalate complex concerns to hospital leadership when appropriate
- Manage payment processing and reconciliation, including balancing daily totals and cash drawers
- Process refunds, returns, credits, and approved payment plans; maintain accurate records and needed approvals
- Oversee bi-monthly billing statements, collections processes, and end-of-month reporting
- Maintain and update referral and specialist scheduling information as directed
- Serve as a backup contact for facility or maintenance coordination
- Schedule: four 10-hour shifts per week; weekends may be required; schedule may vary with hospital needs

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent; 1 or more years of lead or administrative experience
- Previous veterinary or medical front-desk leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and client-service skills
- Proficiency with practice management systems and basic office software; accurate cash handling and reconciliation
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency environment; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- License to practice in Colorado (where applicable to role) or ability to obtain promptly
