Veterinarian

Global Talent Partners is excited to partner with a highly established small animal hospital in Billings, Montana, to recruit a Veterinarian to join its experienced clinical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking for considerably more clinical variety than a traditional general practice can offer. Alongside comprehensive preventative and medical care, the hospital manages emergency and critical cases, advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, rehabilitation, dentistry and complex diagnostic workups.

The Hospital

Serving the Billings community for more than four decades, this well-established hospital has developed an impressive range of medical and surgical capabilities while maintaining a strong focus on compassionate companion animal care.
You'll join a five-doctor veterinary team supported by an extensive group of veterinary technicians, assistants, laboratory personnel, rehabilitation professionals, kennel staff and client service team members.

The hospital primarily treats dogs and cats, while also welcoming rabbits, ferrets and other pocket pets.

Clinical services include:

•Wellness examinations and preventative medicine
•Internal medicine
•Emergency and critical care
•Advanced soft tissue surgery
•Orthopedic surgery
•Fracture repair
•Advanced joint and ligament surgery
•Dentistry and advanced dental procedures
•Diagnostic imaging
•Dermatology and allergy management
•Oncology and cancer care
•Pain management
•Physical rehabilitation
•Laser therapy
•Reproductive medicine
•Nutrition and weight management
•Fear Free veterinary visits

One of the major advantages of this position is the hospital's advanced surgical caseload. The experienced surgical team manages cases that would commonly require referral elsewhere, providing an excellent environment for a veterinarian interested in developing their surgical knowledge.
Procedures performed include advanced fracture repair, TPLO and TTA procedures, arthroscopy, joint fusion, external and internal fixation, minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis, pelvic fracture repair, spinal surgery, bone grafting, ligament repair and other complex orthopedic procedures.
The senior surgical veterinarians bring extensive combined clinical experience and provide an excellent knowledge base for doctors interested in expanding their capabilities.

Diagnostics & Equipment

The hospital has invested heavily in diagnostic, surgical and patient-monitoring technology, giving veterinarians access to an excellent clinical environment.

Facilities and equipment include:

•Modern dedicated surgical facilities
•Digital radiography
•Digital dental radiography
•In-house ultrasound
•Comprehensive in-house laboratory
•Advanced anesthesia and cardiovascular monitoring
•Endoscopy capabilities
•Access to MRI
•Access to CT imaging
•Access to Doppler echocardiography
•Physical rehabilitation facilities
•Therapeutic laser equipment

The comprehensive in-house laboratory allows the team to obtain rapid results for emergency and critically ill patients, with capabilities including CBCs, chemistry panels, clotting times, blood typing, urinalysis, cytology, fungal cultures, skin scrapings and fecal testing.
For more complex cases, the team can also coordinate advanced MRI and CT imaging, providing clinicians with access to a much broader diagnostic toolkit than is typically available within general practice.

Emergency & Critical Care

The hospital also provides 24/7/365 emergency veterinary care, giving veterinarians exposure to a diverse range of urgent and complex presentations.
Emergency cases can include trauma, seizures, acute gastrointestinal disease, urinary emergencies, toxicities, heat-related illness, wounds and other potentially life-threatening conditions. The combination of advanced diagnostics, surgical capability and experienced technical support allows many cases to be managed within the hospital rather than immediately referred elsewhere.
For a veterinarian who enjoys variety, this creates an opportunity to combine general practice medicine with urgent care, surgery and more challenging medical cases.

Rehabilitation & Recovery

Another distinctive aspect of the hospital is its physical rehabilitation service.
A dedicated rehabilitation team works alongside the veterinarians to support patients recovering from orthopedic surgery, injuries and chronic mobility conditions. Rehabilitation and laser therapy can be incorporated into treatment plans, allowing clinicians to follow patients from initial diagnosis and surgery through recovery and longer-term management.

The Opportunity

This position would particularly suit a veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine and wants the resources to investigate cases thoroughly.
You'll benefit from:

•An experienced multi-doctor environment
•A substantial veterinary support team
•Exposure to advanced surgical cases
•Opportunities to develop orthopedic and surgical knowledge
•A varied medical and emergency caseload
•Extensive in-house diagnostics
•Advanced imaging capabilities
•Dedicated rehabilitation support
•The ability to work up complex cases beyond routine GP medicine
•An established hospital with more than 40 years of history in the community

Whether your interests lie in general practice, surgery, emergency medicine, diagnostics or rehabilitation, the breadth of the hospital's caseload provides plenty of scope to develop your clinical career.
