The Hospital
This established small-animal clinic delivers compassionate, high-quality general practice care in a friendly, team-focused environment. The practice operates Monday to Friday with daytime hours and is closed on weekends, supporting balance and continuity of care. Doctors are supported by organized clinical workflows and capable support staff, with access to in-clinic diagnostics and monitoring including radiography, in-house laboratory testing, EKG and anesthetic monitoring, and infusion/medication pumps. The clinic is known locally for attentive service, clear communication, and strong client feedback. Boarding services add variety to daily caseloads, and mentorship and continuing education are encouraged.

The Role
- Part-time schedule (typically 2 weekdays per week) with predictable hours and no weekends
- Perform comprehensive exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
- Conduct routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure controlled substance compliance
- Communicate clearly with clients to educate and guide care decisions
- Collaborate with the hospital manager and clinical team to support efficient workflows and high standards
- Participate in case rounds and protocol reviews to promote consistent, quality care
- Utilize in-house lab, radiography, and patient monitoring tools
- Additional duties as needed to support patient care and team operations

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited institution
- Active Alabama veterinary license (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- 3+ years of clinical experience with strong medical, surgical, and dental skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds
