The Role

The hospital is ideally seeking a Small Animal Associate Veterinarian with 2+ years of post-graduate experience.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in soft tissue surgery and be excited about increasing their surgical caseload.

The owner veterinarian is a highly experienced surgeon who has worked with a broad range of soft tissue and other surgical cases throughout her career and is happy to provide hands-on mentorship and support to a veterinarian looking to further develop their surgical abilities.

You will also have the clinical freedom to develop other areas of interest and make a meaningful contribution to the continued growth of the hospital.

Work-Life Balance

The hospital deliberately avoids an overly compressed appointment schedule, allowing veterinarians to provide thoughtful, high-quality care rather than simply focusing on patient volume.

  • 4 days per week
  • 8:00 AM6:00 PM
  • Two-hour daily period protected for charts, callbacks and clinical administration
  • Appointments generally 45 minutes, with flexibility for 3060-minute appointments depending on patient needs
  • Same-day urgent appointments accommodated
  • Flexible scheduling with the ability to leave earlier when appropriate
  • Optional Saturday coverage, 8:00 AM12:00 PM
  • No more than 2 Saturdays per month
  • A shorter midweek day is provided when working a Saturday, so you effectively maintain a 4-day workweek
  • Saturdays are the only time you may occasionally work independently
  • No on-call or overnight requirements
  • Closed on major holidays
  • Hospital closes every Friday from 12:00 PM2:00 PM for staff development
  • Surgical & Clinical Equipment

The hospital provides an excellent foundation for a veterinarian looking to further develop their clinical and surgical capabilities, including:

The Team

You will join a highly experienced and supportive team of approximately 16 staff members, including:

  • Owner veterinarian
  • Associate veterinarian
  • Practice manager with 20+ years of experience
  • Experienced veterinary nurses and technicians
  • Multiple licensed veterinary technicians
  • Veterinary technician assistants
  • Dedicated surgical assistance

Compensation & Benefits

  • $145,000$155,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • 20% production compensation, paid monthly
  • $200,000+ gross annual earnings achievable
