Veterinarian Medical Director

Global Talent Partners is excited to represent an established, community-focused veterinary hospital in the greater Rochester area seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while helping shape the continued growth and development of the hospital.

The Opportunity

As Medical Director, you will play a central role in establishing the hospital's clinical vision, supporting the veterinary team and working alongside the Practice Manager and wider leadership team to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

You will have the opportunity to:

A Diverse & Interesting Caseload

The team includes veterinarians with experience treating exotic pets, including:
•Small mammals
•Reptiles
•Other exotic companion animals

The hospital has a dedicated exotic treatment area, allowing the team to provide appropriate care for these patients within a purpose-designed space.
There is also a strong emphasis on palliative and hospice care, with one of the veterinarians holding certification in this area and providing supportive end-of-life care both within the hospital and through home visits.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced veterinarian with a genuine interest in clinical leadership, mentorship and developing veterinary teams.

You should be comfortable taking ownership of medical standards while working collaboratively with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership. A positive, approachable communication style and the ability to support colleagues through coaching and mentorship will be particularly valuable.

Requirements:

•DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
•Eligible for veterinary licensure in New York
•Must be in good standing with the relevant State Veterinary Board
•Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible

Previous leadership or Medical Director experience would be advantageous, although veterinarians with strong clinical experience and an interest in taking the next step into leadership are encouraged to explore the opportunity.
