Veterinarian, Medical Director

A well-established small animal veterinary practice in Queens, New York is seeking an experienced and confident Veterinarian to step into a Medical Director role. This role is not suitable for new graduates. The ideal candidate will have several years of clinical experience, strong diagnostic and surgical skills, and the ability to practice independently while guiding others in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to companion animals.
  • Lead the veterinary team and promote clinical excellence.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced veterinarian with several years of small animal clinical practice.
  • Strong diagnostic, medical, surgical, and communication skills.
  • Confident leader with an interest in mentoring and team development.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State.
  • Interest in long-term leadership and potential partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  • Active veterinary state license or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
  • DEA license or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • USDA accreditation or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Several years of clinical experience in small animal medicine (required).
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation is customized based on experience, leadership ability, and performance potential, with a typical base salary range of $130,000$190,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities.
