The Hospital

The Role
- Provide overnight emergency and critical care for small animals, including triage, stabilization, diagnostics, treatment, and monitoring
- Perform and interpret diagnostics such as radiography, ultrasound-guided procedures, laboratory testing, and ECG as clinically indicated
- Manage urgent and emergent surgical cases within skill set, and coordinate referral or daytime transfers as appropriate
- Deliver clear, compassionate client communication and maintain thorough medical records
- Collaborate closely with daytime teams to ensure seamless case handoffs and continuity of care
- Uphold Fear Free and low-stress handling principles, and support best practices in pain management and patient safety
- Contribute to quality improvement, medical protocols, and mentor support staff as needed

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) and eligibility to practice veterinary medicine in Florida
- Active Florida veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Previous emergency experience strongly preferred; strong new graduates with relevant training considered
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to low-stress, high-standard patient care
- Willingness to work an overnight schedule, including some weekends and holidays
