The Role
- Provide overnight emergency and critical care for small-animal patients in a 24/7 setting
- Triage, stabilize and manage urgent and emergent cases, including shock, respiratory distress, trauma and toxicities
- Utilize in-house imaging and diagnostics; interpret results to guide treatment plans
- Perform emergency procedures and soft-tissue surgeries as indicated
- Oversee ICU care, including oxygen and transfusion therapy, and ensure isolation protocols are followed
- Lead and collaborate with skilled RVTs, assistants and client-service teams to deliver efficient, high-quality care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners; create detailed medical records and discharge plans
- Participate in case rounds and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and teamwork

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- License to practice (or eligibility to obtain) in the state of Colorado
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous emergency experience or a completed rotating internship preferred
- Comfort with overnight schedules and an interest in critical care medicine
