ER Per Diem Veterinarian opportunity in Ossining, NY, at a busy 24/7 specialty and emergency hospital, offering a competitive salary. This position provides flexible scheduling and exposure to complex cases within a highly collaborative environment.

This advanced small animal center combines emergency, critical care and multiple specialties under one roof, creating a true referral environment with a strong teaching culture. The emergency service operates around the clock and is supported by an Intensive Care Unit for high-acuity patients. On-site specialties include, for example, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging and anesthesia, allowing seamless case collaboration. In-house diagnostics and imaging include CT, MRI, ultrasound, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, endoscopy and rapid laboratory capabilities, enabling timely decision-making. ICU resources include continuous monitoring, oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, transfusion support and infusion therapy. Experienced technicians and client-care teams are utilized to their full skill set, supporting efficient workflows and clinician development. The Role
- Provide emergency and critical care on an as-needed basis within a 24/7 specialty and emergency setting
- Triage, stabilize, diagnose and treat urgent and emergent presentations across a wide range of conditions
- Manage ICU patients with continuous monitoring, oxygen therapy and advanced supportive care
- Perform common emergency procedures and coordinate surgical interventions with the surgery team as needed
- Interpret and act on in-house diagnostics and imaging in collaboration with diagnostic imaging and specialty services
- Communicate clearly with pet owners and referring veterinarians, ensuring thorough medical records and follow-through
- Lead, mentor and effectively utilize skilled technicians and support staff

Requirements
- DVM or VMD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in New York, or eligibility to obtain
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Prior emergency experience or completion of a rotating internship preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with variable shift needs
