Emergency Veterinarian

Global Talent Partners is pleased to represent a well-established 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Western New York, seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its experienced overnight team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emergency clinician who enjoys a varied caseload, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants access to the resources, equipment and specialist support needed to practice high-quality emergency medicine.
With more than three decades of experience serving the region, the hospital has developed a strong referral network and provides emergency, specialty and advanced referral care to small animal patients.

The Opportunity

You will be joining an experienced emergency team supported by Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants and specialist clinicians, allowing you to focus on clinical decision-making and patient care while having strong support around you.

The position involves managing a diverse range of urgent and complex medical and surgical cases, including:

•Emergency triage and stabilization
•Critical care
•Acute medical cases
•Trauma and injury
•Emergency surgical cases
•Pain management
•Diagnostic workups
•Hospitalized and critical patients
•Client communication and case management
•Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with multiple specialty disciplines, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology and Radiology, creating an environment where complex cases can be approached collaboratively rather than in isolation.

Advanced Clinical Environment

The hospital provides a comprehensive emergency and specialty setting with access to advanced diagnostics and modern treatment capabilities, allowing emergency clinicians to investigate and manage a broad range of cases under one roof.

You'll work alongside experienced emergency clinicians and specialty teams, providing opportunities for discussion, collaboration and continued professional development.

The hospital also utilizes ezyVet and Smart Flow for medical records and patient workflow, helping the clinical team maintain efficient communication and continuity of care.

Your Role

As an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian, you will:

•Triage and assess emergency presentations
•Stabilize critically ill and injured patients
•Perform emergency procedures and treatments
•Develop appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic plans
•Manage hospitalized and high-acuity patients
•Communicate effectively with pet owners during stressful situations
•Work collaboratively with emergency and specialty clinicians
•Maintain accurate and timely medical records
•Participate in case discussions and continuing education
•Contribute to training and development initiatives
•Help develop protocols and improve emergency department processes

The hospital encourages clinicians to contribute ideas and play an active role in the continued development of the emergency service.

Schedule

The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, providing flexibility depending on your preferred working pattern.

The overnight schedule consists of:

•2 overnight shifts
•1 swing shift

The team understands the demands of emergency medicine and aims to provide scheduling flexibility alongside a supportive working environment.

Compensation & Benefits

You'll receive a competitive compensation package of approximately $125,000-$175,000, depending on experience and overall package.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a confident emergency clinician who can make sound decisions in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent standards of patient and client care.

You should have:

•DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary school
•New York veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one
•Previous emergency medicine experience
•Strong clinical judgment
•Confidence managing urgent and critical cases
•Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and specialists
