The Role
- Provide thorough emergency examinations, medical work-ups, and stabilization
- Perform and interpret diagnostics; formulate treatment plans; manage hospitalized cases and participate in daily rounds
- Execute emergency procedures and soft-tissue surgeries within scope and comfort
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners and referring veterinarians
- Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to controlled substance protocols
- Collaborate with technicians and specialists to ensure seamless patient flow from intake to discharge
- Contribute to protocol refinement, quality improvement, and staff training
- Scheduling options include daytime, swing, and overnight; full-time, part-time, and relief considered, with block scheduling available for overnight shifts

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Active New Jersey veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary emergency setting
- Strong diagnostic skills; competency with emergency procedures and soft-tissue surgery
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Eligibility to work in the United States
