About the Hospital

This modern small animal emergency hospital has been purpose-built to support high-level emergency and critical care medicine.

The facility provides veterinarians with access to an impressive range of diagnostic and patient-monitoring technology, including:
•CT imaging
•Diagnostic ultrasound
•Digital radiography
•ECG
•Pulse oximetry
•Advanced patient monitoring
•Emergency diagnostics
•Hospitalization and critical patient management
•Emergency surgical capabilities

You'll work alongside an experienced team of veterinarians with clinical interests spanning areas including internal medicine, surgery, cardiology and medical oncology, creating excellent opportunities for collaborative case management and exposure to more challenging presentations.

A strong veterinarian-to-technician support structure allows doctors to utilize the clinical team effectively and focus their time on diagnosis, treatment planning and patient care.

The Opportunity

As an Emergency Veterinarian, you'll manage a varied caseload of small animal emergency and urgent care presentations within a 24-hour hospital environment.

Responsibilities will include:
•Triage and stabilization of emergency patients
•Managing acute and critically ill patients
•Developing diagnostic and treatment plans
•Utilizing CT, ultrasound and digital radiography
•Interpreting laboratory and diagnostic results
•Performing emergency procedures and surgery where appropriate
•Managing hospitalized patients
•Providing pain management and supportive care
•Communicating clearly with owners during emergency situations
•Maintaining accurate and timely medical records
•Collaborating with veterinarians across different clinical interests
•Working closely with experienced veterinary technicians and support staff

The 24-hour structure provides excellent scope for flexible scheduling, allowing veterinarians to explore roster options that best suit their preferred working pattern.
