The Role
- Provide urgent and emergency care for dogs, cats, and, as appropriate, exotic pets during overnight hours
- Perform triage, diagnostics, stabilization, and emergency procedures, including surgery when indicated
- Manage and monitor hospitalized patients in an ICU setting overnight
- Collaborate closely with skilled technicians and participate in rounds to ensure continuity of care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners and provide detailed discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow controlled substance protocols
- Contribute to protocol refinement and a culture of continuous improvement
- Typical overnight schedule includes Friday through Sunday coverage

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Current California veterinary license (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Emergency experience preferred; strong interest in emergency medicine and surgery welcomed
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable with overnight hours and capable of occasional moderate lifting
