Operating exclusively as a 24-hour emergency and critical care hospital, the practice has built an excellent reputation over many years for delivering exceptional patient care. Receiving referrals from a wide network of primary care clinics, the hospital manages a diverse range of medical and surgical emergencies.

The facility offers:

* Dedicated 24/7 emergency and critical care services
* Established referral relationships with local veterinary practices
* Modern diagnostic and surgical equipment
* Digital radiography, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory
* Blood transfusion capabilities
* Skilled veterinarians, RVTs and support staff working as a close-knit team

The Opportunity

As an Emergency Veterinarian, you'll be responsible for managing a broad range of urgent and critical cases while working alongside experienced colleagues in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Key responsibilities include:

* Assessing, diagnosing and treating emergency presentations
* Managing medical and surgical emergencies
* Working collaboratively with veterinary technicians and support staff
* Providing clear communication and guidance to pet owners
* Maintaining excellent relationships with referring veterinarians
* Delivering high-quality patient care within a supportive team environment

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have:

* Eligibility for veterinary licensure in Nova Scotia
* Previous emergency or emergency referral experience (preferred)
* Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
* Confidence managing emergency cases independently
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to practice
