  • Siemens 1.5T MRI scanner
  • 128-slice CT scanner
  • Digital radiography
  • Advanced ultrasound systems (Philips)
  • Fluoroscopy suite
  • Arthroscopy, endoscopy, laparoscopy and thoracoscopy equipment
  • Surgical laser technology
  • Dedicated ICU with ventilatory support
  • Full in-house IDEXX laboratory
  • Haematology, biochemistry, electrolytes and blood gas analysis

These systems support a high-volume, multidisciplinary caseload requiring advanced diagnostic imaging expertise.

The Team

You will be joining a highly experienced multidisciplinary specialist team, including:

  • Emergency & Critical Care Specialists
  • Soft tissue, orthopaedic and spinal surgeons
  • Internal Medicine specialists with subspecialty interests
  • Experienced ECC clinicians and nursing teams

The Role

As a Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering advanced imaging services across a diverse referral and emergency caseload.

You will work closely with clinicians across all specialties to provide accurate, timely and clinically relevant imaging interpretations that directly inform patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to teaching, mentorship and the continued development of imaging services within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing and interpreting advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT, MRI, radiography and ultrasound.
  • Providing detailed and timely diagnostic reports to support clinical decision-making.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists across all hospital departments.
  • Advising clinicians on appropriate imaging protocols and case-specific imaging strategies.
  • Supporting and mentoring interns, residents and clinical staff.
  • Contributing to the development of imaging protocols and service improvements.
  • Participating in teaching, training and continuing education initiatives.
  • Maintaining high standards of diagnostic accuracy and clinical governance.

What We're Looking For

Essential
  • Board-certified Diagnostic Imaging Specialist (ACVR, ECVDI, FANZCVS or equivalent), or residency-trained radiologist.
  • Eligibility for veterinary registration in Australia (AVBC-approved qualification required).
  • Strong expertise in advanced diagnostic imaging modalities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous learning.

Desirable
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring or residency training programs.
  • Interest in service development or imaging protocol design.
  • Previous experience in a specialist referral hospital environment.
