An exciting opportunity is available for a Board-Certified Veterinary Medical Oncologist or Residency-Trained Veterinarian eligible for specialist certification to join a growing multidisciplinary referral hospital in Adelaide, South Australia.

The Team

You will be joining a collaborative multidisciplinary team including:

  • Internal Medicine Specialists

  • Experienced oncology nursing and clinical support staff

The Role

As a Veterinary Medical Oncology Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering advanced cancer care within a growing Oncology service.

You will work closely with other specialties to ensure integrated, evidence-based treatment planning and exceptional patient outcomes, while contributing to the continued development of the Oncology department.

This role also offers the opportunity to participate in service growth, clinical mentorship and multidisciplinary collaboration across a wide and varied referral caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a diverse medical oncology caseload.
  • Delivering chemotherapy and advanced oncology treatment protocols.
  • Providing specialist consultations and case planning.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex cases.
  • Interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results in oncology cases.
  • Supporting and advising referring veterinarians.
  • Contributing to development of oncology protocols and service expansion.
  • Participating in clinical teaching, mentorship and knowledge sharing.

What We're Looking For

Essential
  • Board-certified Medical Oncologist (ACVIM, ECVIM, FANZCVS or equivalent), or residency-trained veterinarian eligible for specialist certification.
  • Eligibility for veterinary registration in South Australia.
  • Strong clinical expertise in oncology case management.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • A collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to veterinary medicine.
  • Commitment to clinical excellence, compassion and teamwork.

Desirable
  • Experience working within a referral or specialist hospital.
  • Interest in teaching, mentoring or residency training.
  • Involvement in clinical service development or leadership initiatives.
