The Opportunity

The hospital group is seeking a Medical Oncologist to join its expanding specialist services.

This position offers an established oncology caseload and access to a dedicated oncology treatment area, supported by a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.

You will work closely with specialists across internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, anaesthesia and other disciplines to provide coordinated, patient-centred treatment plans.

Beyond clinical work, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the oncology service, including workflows, clinical standards, client and referring veterinarian experience, and potential involvement in future teaching and training programs.

This is an ideal role for a clinician who is motivated to help shape and grow a modern oncology service within a collaborative and well-supported environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a diverse medical oncology caseload.
  • Providing specialist consultations and treatment planning for oncology patients.
  • Delivering chemotherapy and advanced cancer care protocols.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists on complex cases.
  • Supporting referring veterinarians with case management and communication.
  • Contributing to oncology service development, protocols and clinical standards.
  • Participating in clinical teaching and mentoring where appropriate.
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care and client communication.

What We're Looking For

Applications are welcomed from candidates who are:

Essential
Board-certified Veterinary Oncologists (ACVIM, ECVIM or equivalent), or residency-trained veterinarians eligible for specialist registration.
Experienced in medical oncology case management.
Strong collaborators with excellent communication skills.
Committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary referral environment.

Desirable
Experience contributing to service development or leadership.
Interest in teaching, training or mentoring interns/residents.
Exposure to multidisciplinary oncology case coordination.
