The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and develop the Internal Medicine department while managing a diverse and rewarding referral caseload using advanced diagnostic technology.
About the Opportunity
As the Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist, you will provide specialist consultations and advanced medical care for companion animals presenting with a wide range of complex medical conditions.
Working closely with experienced emergency veterinarians and a dedicated team of nurses and support staff, you'll deliver comprehensive patient care while helping to expand specialist services within the hospital.
This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys collaborative medicine, clinical problem-solving and helping to build an evolving specialty service.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing and managing complex internal medicine referral cases.
Performing advanced diagnostic investigations and medical procedures.
Developing comprehensive treatment plans for referred patients.
Collaborating closely with emergency clinicians and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Utilising advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory equipment.
Mentoring veterinary technicians, interns and support staff.
Contributing to the continued development and growth of the Internal Medicine service.
Providing clear communication and ongoing support to clients and referring veterinarians.
