The Role
- Provide medical leadership as Specialty Medical Director, setting clinical standards, championing quality, and partnering with hospital leadership on strategy, operations and culture.
- Continue practicing within a primary specialty (all board-certified or residency-trained specialties considered), delivering high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate closely with emergency and specialty teams to co-manage complex cases from intake through discharge.
- Oversee and mentor clinicians and technicians; support case reviews, protocol development and continuing education.
- Engage in ICU oversight appropriate to specialty services, including guidance on stabilization, monitoring and treatment plans.
- Contribute to scheduling, workflow optimization and service development to enhance patient care and client service.

Requirements
- DVM/VMD or equivalent
- Board-certified or residency trained in a veterinary specialty
- License to practice in New York (or eligibility to obtain) and in good standing
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and teamwork skills in a specialty or high-acuity setting
